Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026 · Dua Finder is published by Grainique Pty Ltd (grainique.com)

Dua Finder does not collect, sell, or share any personal data. There is no account and no login. The only thing that ever leaves your device is the app-update check described below.

What the app stores, and where

Everything the app stores lives only in a local database on your device, inside the app's own private storage. Nothing in this list is ever transmitted anywhere:

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data along with it. There is no cloud backup, sync-to-account, or export-to-server feature.

Location

The app never asks for your location unless you tap "My location" on the Prayer times or Daily dua at Asr screen, or (on iPhone only) open the Qibla compass. It then asks your operating system for permission to read your location only while the app is in use; the app does not use background location. The position is used to calculate prayer times on your phone, is rounded to about 1 km, is stored only in the app's local database on your device, and is never sent to us or anyone else by the app. While "My location" is chosen, the app re-reads your position when you open it or come back to it (at most every 6 hours) so prayer times stay right when you travel.

The Qibla compass is calculated on your phone from the city or position already chosen. On iPhone, iOS only gives the compass to apps that are allowed to use location, so opening the compass asks for the same permission; the app uses it to read the compass direction and does not send it anywhere. On Android the compass reads your phone's motion and magnetic sensors and needs no permission; those readings are used live on the screen and are not stored or sent.

Choosing a city from the list instead uses no location permission at all. You can switch back to a city, or withdraw the permission in your phone's settings, at any time; the app then keeps using the last stored position until you choose a city.

Network access

The app makes exactly one kind of network request: checking Expo's EAS Update service (operated by Expo on the developer's behalf) for a newer version of the app's code and dua content. This happens when the app starts and when you tap "Check for updates" in Settings. The request:

There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting or tracking SDKs in this app. Expo's own privacy information is at expo.dev/privacy.

Notifications

If you create a reminder or switch on a prayer-time alert or a fasting reminder, the app asks the operating system for local-notification permission at that moment — never on launch, and never for any other reason. Notifications are scheduled entirely on-device; nothing about your reminders ever leaves your device.

Data retention and deletion

Dua Finder keeps your data only on your device, and only until you remove it. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Grainique Pty Ltd holds no server-side copy of the data listed above, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Children's privacy

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children, for the reasons above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here and the date above will change accordingly.
